About the single “Of Recent Times, Pt. 1,” the band comments: “This track directly showcases the band’s identity. The music is simple, not too long, and it highlights the most apparent facets of what we want to express in our works: we tell fantasy stories with the sound of metal, incorporating elements of Power Metal, Symphonic Metal, and Progressive Metal.”

The lyrical theme explored in the song extends to the entire upcoming album that Fortell is producing, as if each song were a chapter in a book: “In the plot of our first album, titled ‘I,’ we tell the story of an ordinary guy. In our first release, he lives a life he’s not satisfied with and ends up losing his job, leaving him devastated but also creating the opportunity to embark on the adventure that will be narrated starting from the next song we’ll release.” The theme, in fact, is open to interpretations, allowing for a deep dive into the subject matter: “The fantasy elements in this story, such as time-space travels, can be interpreted in various ways. But what’s important is that through them, the protagonist – and perhaps the listener too – experiences common human emotions, learns more about oneself, and navigates paths that could change one’s life.”
With influences from names like Kamelot, Wintersun, Primal Fear, Rhapsody, and Dream Theater, Fortell excels in blending genres that each member listens to and absorbs, creating a unique identity.
