Ana Carolina Leite will be the child protagonist of the soap opera “Dona Beja,” a success from the 80s, for the HBO Max

Ana Carolina will portray the childhood phase of the protagonist, Beja, a role that will later be taken over by Grazi Massafera.

Originally from Rio Brilhante, 158 km from Campo Grande, the young actress is outgoing, intelligent, and loves to play. She began her journey in beauty pageants, winning national and international titles between 2020 and 2021. Aninha, as she is known, achieved the title of Mini Miss Brazil and later traveled to Colombia with beauty pageant specialist and consultant Paulo Filho, where she won the title of Mini Top Model Universe, receiving invitations to walk the runway in various countries.

“Ana Carolina is a star; I met her in 2019 when she was only 6 years old. She has always been outgoing and possesses incredible beauty. Her resemblance to actress Grazi Massafera was already noticeable at that time. I am happy to see her achievements going beyond beauty competitions,” commented beauty pageant expert Paulo Filho.

Currently residing in SĂŁo Paulo, the mini-miss divides her time between play, studies, and acting classes.

“I am loving this opportunity. Meeting Massafera was one of my dreams, and now I am portraying her in the girl version,” exclaimed Aninha enthusiastically.

Dona Beja

The successful 80s remake brought a fresh perspective to the soap opera that was a hit in its time. This new version changed the name from “Dona Beija” to “Dona Beja.”

To create the period drama, HBO Max built a set in Rio de Janeiro. In an effort to modernize, the adaptation, written by Daniel Berlinsky and António Barreira, will feature more racial diversity in the cast, as well as a more feminist tone. The love triangle with Dona Beja (Grazi Massafera) will be formed by actors André Luiz Miranda and David Jr. The series will consist of only 40 episodes. HBO Max aims to create a version vastly different from the one aired by Manchete in the 1980s. The storyline is directed by Hugo de Sousa and João Boltshauser, and the production is by Floresta ProduçÔes and Warner Bros Discovery.
