“Hoochie Coochie Man,” a blues song originally released by American artist Willie Dixon in 1954, has been reinterpreted by German singer, songwriter, and musician Svarp The Harp. This version was released in October 2023, described by the artist himself as “slower, longer, and quieter.”

“The last verse of my version brings two small changes to the lyrics that were slightly adapted to current times. ‘Gypsy Woman’ has been replaced by ‘World Wide Web,’ and ‘Pretty Woman’ has been replaced by ‘Pretty Man’,” he shared.

Svarp The Harp’s rendition carries its own artistic personality and technical credits, featuring bass, drums, guitar (rhythm and solo), and blue harp, recorded at Wolvesinsound Studio in Berlin. The recording and mixing were handled by Antonio Passacantilli.

This release marks another step in Svarp The Harp’s career, an artist active since 1997, performing both as a solo musician and in band projects. As a solo artist, Svarp has four singles released, three of which are his original works in the German language.

“Hoochie Coochie Man,” in Svarp The Harp’s version, was released under his own label and distributed by MusicHub, with authorization from BMG Rights Management, the original publisher of Willie Dixon’s music. The release is available on all streaming platforms.
