Julia Wheaton releases a song blending Bossa Nova, R&B, and Pop

Julia Wheaton is releasing the song “Rather Be” this Friday, December 15, which talks about the dilemma of being in a relationship where love isn’t enough.

Mixing Bossa Nova, Pop, and R&B, Julia Wheaton aimed to combine her musical experiences from the United States and Brazil, as she is the daughter of Brazilians.

“I wanted to blend a bit of my two homes, the USA and Brazil, in this song. Despite being in English, my first language, the Brazilian sway is very much present. Unifying my origins. This is the first song I’ve completely composed on my own,” commented the singer.
